So there are quite a few new energy/malt liquor drinks on the market. Four Maxed is one that really stands out.
I cracked the 16 oz. can and the scent of fizzy grape kool-aid wafts across my nostrils. It has a delicious grapey flavor (Girlfriend note: some may perceive this as grape cough syrup). Despite the 10% alcohol content, there isn’t any trace of alcohol fumes like you would get with a barley wine or schnapps (Girlfriend note: the alcohol content probably contributes to the grape cough syrup taste). It is delicious and fruity (Girlfriend note: in sips)
One can packs a mean buzz. There is the aforementioned 10% alcohol. 16 oz. at 10% alcohol is the equivalent of 2 1/2 ice beers. Not to mention the added guarana, caffeine, and taurine present in most energy drinks. It is great for dancing or the late night party.
The thing that makes Four Maxed unique is the wormwood oil. Wormwood oil is the traditional intoxicant in absinthe. The thujone (the drug supposedly responsible for absinthe’s intoxicating effects) has been removed. Because of that, the addition of wormwood oil is used for marketing as an aphrodisiac. The end result is up for debate, but it makes a great marketing ploy!

Four was originally pitched by an ex-Minnesota hockey player. When I was a wine rep, we were in the test market and it caught on.
Four Maxed is the spinoff of the original Four (cherry flavored, 6% alcohol, energy drink chemicals, and wormwood).
I have seen it in Indiana, Minnesota, and Michigan. It depends on your beer/wine distributors and if they have contacted the company, so YMMV.
Four Maxed is AWESOME! If you haven’t tried it I suggest you go out of your way to find it! It is truely the ONLY alcohol/energy drink out there!!!!!! AMAZING

I think its pretty good for a energy/malt beverage. I like Four Maxed a lot better than Joose, which is 9% and comes in a 24.5 oz can – but four maxed definitely tastes better.

1 of each the purple and red to top you off when you start to come down is enough! Artemesia Absinthium effects usually double the effect of alcohol an d in low light conditions makes certain colors bleed and move.

I just had one. It does remind me of grape cough syrup that I had (and hated) in the mid 80′s. But with about 1/5 of the pucker face factor that the syrup had.
Calling the flavor grape is a stretch IMHO. It seems closer to licorice to me.
I think I will stick with my Hurricane HG in the future.

i never seen the four. but the only store that sells 4maxed where i live is out of them cuz of me. it tastes great and is good when you get out of work. 4 4maxed will get you real tipsy. p.s. i might be the only person to ever drink 4maxed from a beer bong!;)

First it was the sparks in the orange can that caught on real quick in Phoenix, then it was the sparks in the black can, which was only like 7% alc. Then the Fours cam out with the red cherry 6% alc. can, then there was the Four maXed, which tops them all out at 10% alc. Now we drinking the Citrus flavor Maxes, Then theres Joose that are alright but you got the same amount of Alc. than in the four maXed but the four is smaller, If i do say so Four maxed citrus flavor is one of the best drinks avaiable period. I cant wait till the break out the 24 oz Four.

I have to disagree, wormwood oil isn’t even available for sale on the internet under the essential oils webistes. It, as per one of the websites, is a toxin and neurotoxin. It IS the ingredient of issue in absinthe. It has hallucinogenic properties, causes intellectual enfeeblement, promotes menstruation (which in turn causes abortion in those who may be pregnant). Long story short,my friend had 3 last nite, was dropped off at home,woke up several hours later and felt perfectly fine,no buzz or anything. She attempted to head to her boyfriend’s house and said she saw a man in the middle of the road with his arms outstretched,walking toward her…described his clothing to a t. She subsequently totalled her car and is pretty banged up. Beware…scary drink!

Hype Energy Drinks are one of the best energy drinks that I have ever used. There are many varieties and all of them have great flavor and energy!!
Well, i tried the beast of a drink last night, i had the purple and yellow flavor (flintstones vitamins and citrus) and although it was a delicious drink that packs a wicked buzz, it provided me with one of the worst hangovers i have had in quite a while. overall, its defiantly worth a go if you can find it.
Tried a can of the grape kind. At first, I noticed that nasty cheap alcohol taste similar to the kind found in Wild Irish Rose or Cisco, but the taste became less offensive (opposite of most cheapahol) as I drank more and it just tasted like grape. Decent buzz for just one can. With alcohol and caffiene, I’ll have to piss like a racehorse pretty soon.

This drink is truly great “buzz” for the price. I find the flavor to be appealing in an ironic tastes-like-robitussin way [I prefer to drink it over ice when possible]. The grape flavor is good but gets overwhelming; I prefer citrus or fruit punch. Two 16 oz or one 24 oz can is nice. Good buzz, little hangover. Don’t go over the top though. 3 or 4 cans you’ll be sloshed, and in my experience, feel like throwing up all day the next day (emphasis on “feel like”–not literally vomit-inducing). If this sounds awesome, you’ll love it. If this sounds terrible, don’t bother.
UPON FIRST TASTE, IM A SLIGHTLY IMPRESSED WITH THE GRAPE FLAVOR BEING THAT THIS IS A MALT BEVERAGE. IVE STUMBLED UPON THIS WEBSITE ONLY IN TRYING TO DISCOVER THE PROPERTIES OF THE “WORMWOOD OIL” THIS DRINK SUPPOSEDLY CONTAINS. UNFORTUNATELY (AS EXPECTED), IT CONTAINS NO THUJONE AND THUS IS A DISAPPOINTMENT TO ANYONE STUPID ENOUGH TO THINK THEY WOULD FIND IT IN A $3.99 FOUR PACK OF MALT LIQUOR. This crap IS strong. It was good. I had the citrus and grape. both awesome! For some reason I took two of those (legal) Club 13 Oh! pills which specifically say not to take if you ingested large amounts of caffeine/guarana/taurine… and i threw up a lot that night. partly bc I’m a lightweight and drank two 16 oz. cans of this Four Maxed stuff… I did everything wrong. But before I got to the waking hangover/ poor choice of mixing it with pills, Four Maxed was loads of fun. I was surprised how good it was (of course in sips, as aforementioned) for having 10% alcohol.

Four is spectacular. you only taste the first two drink and then it goes down smooth. if you wanna keep it cheap, and effective. go Four.
i have tried all your other flavors and they were great and we had great times…..but your 16oz.citrus “four maxed” is the worst smelling and tasting malt beverage we have ever had….puke….and we have tried lots….we are california girls,south and north….but we agree its the worst ever…honestly i dont even know if we will consider to drink our fav’s 4 loco anymore…cuz of this issue…..so sorry …i have never complained on-line before but this is in my taste buds for the rest of the night……and its not cool….good luck…..i know u will not publish this cause its a negative comment…..ok
I for one, think four maxed is THE best hang-over cure all. I love four Maxed. Even if I’m not hung over. Grape or even citrus! I have never found it in four packs. I live in AZ. where can I find four packs. It’s like the better version of red bull!!!!

Just bought some of these haven’t tried them yet, but sounds like Im in for a good night.Another good one to try is Four Loko, we drank them all last weekend and let me tell you one was enough!! They are also 16 oz but 12% alcohol, so a lil stronger than these.
