I love compost. You can practically use as much as you want as a fertilizer in the garden and it won’t burn your plants. I am going to show you how to make a simple and odorless compost pile.
First we start with a large tupperware. Then we fill it with wet shredded newspaper and food scraps. Practically any food or garden waste can go in it minus meat, dairy, or glossy cardboard.
Every couple of weeks, it is turned to aerate and redistribute the nutrients. After a couple of months, the smell will become earthy instead of like food scraps. It will darken in color.
A couple times a year, the compost can be harvested. It should be screened with the large bits going back into the bin. It is the perfect fertilizer for the garden or potted plants.

Something that size you might want to look into using composting worms. I’ve got a bin and it works really nicely.
That looks like the exact totes I used for my worm bin.
