New Holland Mad Hatter IPA Beer Review

I was in the mood for a good stiff IPA and Mad Hatter from New Holland brewery fits the bill. Mad Hatter pours a clear light orange in color with a dense thick head and tons of creamy lacing.  It is extremely aromatic and smells clean, piney with tons of citrus like Pine Sol.  The [...]

Drunken Paperwhites

My Bit of Earth writes:  Every year about this time I always start a big crop of paperwhites.  And every year three weeks later, I go around the house with a packet of stakes and string, tying the paperwhites up because they’re falling over on their spindly stems. Apparently other people have this problem too, [...]

Regrowing Scallions

I had seen a couple people were regrowing scallions, so I had to try my hand at it.  I put just the growing tip of a scallion in the coconut blooming my amaryllis: And it just grew back! The amaryllis doesn’t mind too much.

So Close! (Forcing Bulbs Part 3)

I think I might have multiple blooms on this beast.  All I can do is wait and see.

ABC News writes: Coca-Cola Co. will begin selling products made with a new zero-calorie sweetener despite no official nod from the government, but rival PepsiCo Inc. said Monday it won’t follow suit. . . . Atlanta-based Coca-Cola is expected this week to begin selling three flavors of an Odwalla juice drink sweetened with stevia, The [...]
