The ‘smart’ part of the system is how it adjusts nutrient levels and water flow for optimum growth and indicates when to add more.

Hey Dudley,

I top off with plain water all week when the levels get low. I empty the reservoir and add fresh nutrients once a week.

Thanks for the info. I have tried growing without a starter kit but had problems getting the nutrients right. How often do you feed add the 3/4 tsp. of Flora Nova nutrients please?

That lettuce looks great! I’m still hoping that Santa brings me an Aerogarden for Christmas. It’s good to know that you can start seeds without their seed packs.

I figure it’s just a matter of time before someone markets a small net pot that just “accidentally” fits perfectly into the Aerogarden. I say “accidentally” because I think if you tried to sell something like that explicitly as being for the AG you’d probably get sued by them.

That is some nice-looking Romaine, though. I grew some monsters a little while back – so much lettuce the wife and I didn’t want salad for a couple months.

Might be time to break out the DWC again, though.

That is beautiful lettuce.

I bought enough of the AeroGrow Master Gardening Kits to get what we hope is a lifetime supply of the split-apart baskets, and have used inexpensive open-cell foam (the kind they use for window A/C insulation) as a medium, both by itself and as padding around a bit of. Works great. either way.

Some of the AG kits are good for people just starting out, but we grow many things from our own seed. Glad to see you are doing it so successfully, too.
