It’s Crazy What Two Weeks in the Aerogarden Will Do

Before: After: I am using Aurora Innovations Soul Synthetics line.

Replanting The Aerogarden, Yet Again . . .

After recovering from the ice storm, I have replanted the Aerogarden once again.  The lettuce sprouts were started in Oasis and are being fed a half teaspoon of Flora Nova nutrients.

The Indoor Garden Is Toast

We just had 6 days without power in the Midwest.  My Aerogarden and Megagarden froze solid while I tried to do watering and aeration maintenance by hand without plant lighting. It’s unfortunate, but it almost feels nice to start my garden fresh . . .

A Full Aerogarden Propagated Without Seed Kits!

Here is my Aerogarden planted without expensive seed kits.  I had previously written about it here. Essentially, rockwool or Oasis is crammed into the seed pod hole and the seeds are set on top without sprouting domes.  I am using 5 ml of Flora Nova nutrients per gallon of distilled water.  It works great! Re-Seeding the Aerogarden Without Seed Kits

As much as I think Aerogardens are ingenious, I can’t justify buying their expensive seed kits. With all this rockwool sitting around, I decided to start some lettuce in my Aerogarden. The End of the First Aerogarden Grow Log (February 10)

The Aerogarden has been a neat toy. Unfortunately, after about 40-50 juicy cherry tomatoes, they have stopped producing. Sadly, I must kill them for the sake of the power bill. Click “more” for the end of the Aerogarden project.

Jan. 28 Aerogarden Update

The Aerogarden tomatoes are ripening at a frenzied pace.

The Mini-BLT

Because of the votes in this post, I made a miniature BLT out of my very first Aerogarden tomato.

The Fruits of my Aerogarden Labor (Jan. 16 Update)

The day has finally come where I finally have my first delicious, ripe, juicy Aerogarden tomato. I don’t know if I should make a shotglass of tomato soup or a minature BLT. But why praytell, Red, is there a teacup and a lamp in the picture? Well, the tomato got a bit leggy only under [...]
